Education begins with strong foundations—and for the children of Bolong, that foundation just grew stronger.
The Bolong Child Development Center (CDC) celebrated the turnover of its newly renovated facility and brand-new sets of learning materials under the initiative “Together for Every Child’s Future.”
The simple yet meaningful ceremony gathered key partners and community leaders, including Vice President for Corporate Affairs Ruben G. Tungpalan, WMPC Plant Manager Engr. Alan Leroy A. Dionio, Community Relations Associate Maureen M. Niebla, Teacher-in-Charge Zenaida Enriquez, and Barangay Kagawad Bernadita G. Magbanua, representing Barangay Captain Ruben Coros.
Through this initiative, Western Mindanao Power Corporation (WMPC) supported major repairs on the CDC’s walls and electrical wiring, and equipped the center with essential learning tools such as books, toys, desks and chairs, a printer, bookshelf, whiteboard, and art supplies.
Beyond infrastructure and resources, WMPC’s support extends toward sustainability. Prior to the turnover, Ms. Niebla met with Teacher Enriquez and parents to discuss a two-month evaluation plan aimed at measuring outcomes in child development, empowering teachers, supporting children’s health and well-being, and identifying opportunities to further enrich the daycare’s programs.
Teacher Enriquez closed the program with heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the community, pledging to care for the facility and ensure it continues to nurture future generations of learners.
In the end, the turnover was more than just the handover of a renovated classroom—it was a shared promise of brighter tomorrows. When companies, educators, and communities come together, they build more than classrooms; they build futures filled with hope, opportunity, and endless possibilities for every child.
