WHAT IS RETAIL COMPETITION AND OPEN ACCESS?

Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) allows End-Users with power consumption in excess of 500kW (referred to as “Contestable Customers”) to switch from their current power supplier, usually the distribution utility, and choose different supplier.

Through a licensed Retail Electricity Supplier, Contestable Customers have the freedom of selecting from which RES they can acquire their electricity supply to realize savings on their electricity costs

Alsons Power maintains a diversified portfolio of power assets, including a variety of renewable energy sources like solar and hydro power. This enables us to provide reliable and continuous electricity to our partners that supports their business and sustainability aspirations. 

SEC
Sarangani Energy Corporation is a 220-megawatt baseload coal-fired power plant in Maasim, Sarangani. It is the single largest power investment in Sarangani Province and the entire region 12 with an investment value of 570 million dollars. The plant ranked 2nd and 3rd in the coal resource category at the WESM Awards in 2023.
WMPC
Western Mindanao Power Corporation, a 100-MW diesel plant in Sangali, Zamboanga City, provides ancillary services to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines to help stabilize the Mindanao Grid and ensure a consistent power supply in Zamboanga City and surrounding areas.
MPC
Mapalad Power Corporation, a 103-MW diesel plant in Iligan City, is providing ancillary services to NGCP since last 2023. MPC plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability of the power grid in Mindanao by reserving and allocating generating capacity that can be dispatched immediately.
Ubay Diesel Plant
Alsons Power is currently developing a 95.2-MW In-Island Back Up Power Plant in Ubay, Bohol. This will serve as the backup power source for Bohol during times when power running through the submarine cables connecting Leyte and Cebu to Bohol is interrupted.

SHPC
The Siguil Hydro Power Corportaion managed the 14.5-MW run-of-river hydroelectric power plant located at the Siguil River basin in the municipality of Maasim, Sarangani Province. It is the Alsons Power Group’s first foray into the renewable energy sphere.
BHRC
The 34.8 Megawatt hydroelectric power plant that will provide safe, reliable, and affordable renewable energy to Negros Occidental.
SZPC
This renewable energy project includes an 8.8 Megawatt hydro power plant and a 29 Megawatt solar project in Zamboanga del Norte.
