Faces of Alsons: Kirbie, Our Champion for Safety and Sustainability

Kirbie Orellanida, a Control Room Operator at Alsons Power’s Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC), shares his view about the company’s brand promise: “To me, the Alsons brand promise is not just a front; it embodies our commitment to delivering reliable energy while prioritizing the well-being of our communities, our employees, and the environment.”

Kirbie, a licensed Electronics Engineer, has been working for Alsons Power Group as a Control Room Operator for eight years. His main task is to ensure that systems are running in optimal condition and that the status of power plant equipment is safe for field operators’ routine activities. Recognizing the critical role he plays, Kirbie makes sure that all systems are properly managed, well-maintained, and environmentally compliant—upholding not only the safety of Alsons’ operations but also minimizing impact on the local community.

Safety and sustainability are central to the role of control room operators. Inspired by these values, Kirbie approaches his work with diligence and a strong sense of responsibility toward the company’s stakeholders.

Kirbie even goes as far as to say, “By being proactive, showing empathy, and prioritizing safety in our daily work, we can truly live out the ‘We Power with Care’ promise,” which reaffirms the company’s guiding principle and highlights the importance of proactive care in our work.

As a Power Buddy, Kirbie exemplifies his unwavering commitment to safety, sustainability, and community welfare through his dedication to his work but also through his active involvement in various SEC initiatives. His proactive approach as a Control Room Operator not only ensures operational efficiency but also inspires a culture of responsibility among his colleagues.

Guided by the “We Power with Care” brand promise, Kirbie actively contributes to fulfilling the company’s mission of providing complete, stable, reliable, and affordable energy while meeting its commitment to stakeholders and protecting the natural environment.
