The Alsons Power Group’s Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) distributed 2,776 reams or around of 1.38 million pieces of bond paper to various public schools located in SEC’s host municipality of Maasim, Sarangani Province for the purpose of printing learning modules as these schools gear up for “new normal” classes.   The SEC donation will enable the schools to print around 400,000 learning modules for the pupils of five public schools in the municipality.

The Department of Education has tasked teachers to prepare printed learning modules for learners who have no access to computers and the internet. School heads of Rogaya Bajunaid Integrated School, Datu Abdul Bali Integrated School, Mangelen Integrated School and Arcal Elementary School, and Malbang Elementary School expressed their gratitude for the company’s untiring support to education especially amidst the pandemic. The school heads stated that the SEC bond paper donation has allowed them to reallocate resources originally allotted for bond paper, towards the acquisition of additional printers and printing accessories.

SEC operates a 210 mega-watt baseload thermal power plant in Maasim providing power to Sarangani Province, General Santos City and other areas of Mindanao. The Alsons Power group is Mindanao’s first private sector power generator and currently has a portfolio of four power facilities serving over eight million people in 14 cities and 11provinces.
