
ALSONS POWER SIGNS EPC CONTRACT FOR FIRST HYDRO PROJECT: The Alsons Power Group, the first and most experienced independent power producer in Mindanao, recently signed an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract with Sta. Clara International Corp. (SCIC), a leading engineering and main contracting group in the Philippines, to build the 15 megawatt (MW) run-of-river hydroelectric power project at the Siguil River basin in Maasim, Sarangani Province. The P3.7-billion hydro power plant is expected to begin commercial operations in 2020 and will provide power to Sarangani Province, General Santos City and key municipalities of South Cotabato. The Siguil project is the initial rollout of Alsons’ potential 200 MW in hydro capacity which includes another project in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
