Alsons Power Champions Human-Centered AI at PMAP 2025 Luzon Summit

Alsons Power Group underscored its commitment to people-first innovation at the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) 2025 Luzon Regional Summit, held alongside Bulacan’s Singkaban Festival. Vice President for Corporate Services Maria Jiji Q. Lara delivered a compelling talk on “Human + AI: Shaping Ethical, Empowering Workplaces in the Philippines,” sharing how the company is integrating artificial intelligence to strengthen human potential.

With the summit theme “From Potential to Power: AI and Tech as Catalysts for Filipino Talent,” Lara illustrated how AI is already part of everyday life and stressed the need to keep technology rooted in Filipino values such as pakikipagkapwa (connection) and malasakit (deep care).

“At Alsons, AI adoption isn’t just about efficiency, it’s about care, empathy, and inclusion,” Lara said.

She highlighted HR’s three pivotal roles in this journey: Ethics Champion, Employee Advocate, and Capability Builder—ensuring responsible AI use, protecting employee rights, and expanding opportunities for learning and career growth.

Alsons Power is already turning this vision into practice. AI-driven analytics now replace manual performance reviews, giving managers sharper insights and employees personalized learning paths through LinkedIn Learning. AI also maps career growth and succession plans to quickly identify competency gaps, while data-powered rewards and recognition programs deliver timely, meaningful appreciation. To build digital confidence, employees have access to tools like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT, reinforced by monthly “Cyber Friday” sessions that support continuous upskilling.

“AI supports, but humans decide,” she affirmed, reinforcing Alsons Power’s commitment to transparency, data privacy, and bias mitigation.

For the Philippine energy sector—where reliability, safety, and community impact are paramount—combining technological innovation with human values is essential. As the country confronts growing energy demands and evolving workforce expectations, Alsons Power’s Human + AI approach offers a blueprint for sustainable, people-centered growth.
