Busa KBA is home to a sizeable Philippine Eagle sub-population.   Under the terms of the MOA, Alsons Power will provide material and personnel support for a three-year conservation and public awareness program. Alsons will likewise support the tracking and protection of a rescued Philippine Eagle that will be released into the area.

Alsons Power has two power facilities within the vicinity of the Mt. Busa KBA: the 210 mega-watt (MW) Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) baseload thermal power plant which has been operating since 2016; and, the 14.5 MW Siguil Hydro run- of- river hydroelectric power plant currently under construction.

Alsons Power is Mindanao’s first private sector power generator. The group currently operates four power facilities with a total generating capacity of 468 MW serving over eight million people in 14 cities and 11 provinces in the country’s second largest island.
