Alsons Power, Alcantara Foundation expand earthquake relief across Maasim

As host communities continue to recover from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck offshore Maasim, Sarangani on June 8, Alsons Power Group, through Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC), Siguil Hydro Power Corporation (SHPC), and the Conrado & Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation, Inc. (CLAFI), continues to stand alongside affected families through sustained relief and recovery efforts.

Following its earlier relief operation in Barangay Kamanga, Alsons Power recently extended assistance to another 1,500 families in Barangay Tinoto in Maasim.

Relief goods are unloaded at the Barangay Hall in Tinoto, Maasim, Sarangani, ahead of Alsons Power Group’s distribution to 1,500 earthquake-affected families.

The distribution of relief goods and grocery packs brought the total number of families assisted by the three organizations to 3,000 across the municipality.

The initiative forms part of the Group’s continuing commitment to help communities recover from one of the strongest earthquakes to strike Southern Mindanao in recent years, complementing ongoing government-led relief and rehabilitation efforts.

For Barangay Tinoto Chair Abdul M. Wahani, the assistance provided timely support to residents still recovering from the disaster’s impact.

“We are deeply grateful to Alsons Power for its immediate assistance. This relief has greatly helped our constituents as they continue to recover from the earthquake. Their continued presence reminds our community that we are not facing this challenge alone.”

The relief operation reflects Alsons Power Group’s enduring commitment to its host communities—not only by providing reliable energy, but also by standing with them in times of need.
