“As we shift into higher gear, our efforts will remain focused on three key areas: growth, operational excellence, and organizational capability to ensure that we achieve our financial targets. These are powerful drivers that will propel Alsons Power forward,” said Alsons Power CEO Antonio Miguel B. Alcantara (ABA) during the company’s Town Hall Meeting.
Last June 19, Alsons Power Conversations, Dialogues, and Chats (ACDC): PBU’s Midyear Town Hall Meeting was held at Mapalad Power Corporation in Iligan. ACDC is Alsons Power’s unique platform that provides employees with an avenue to directly interact with key leaders of the organization. It is also a vital channel to keep employees informed about the latest developments within the Group.
Themed “Accelerate Together: Stepping on the gas, Shifting Gears,” the Midyear Town Hall highlighted the need for Power Buddies to take charge of their respective targets and focus on strategically turning plans into actions, into results.
ABA gave an update on the company’s Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), highlighting which targets remain on track, which require more focus, and what actions are needed to ensure overall alignment with the Group’s goals for the year.
“Though we’ve made good progress on most of our OKRs, our work is far from done. We need to sustain this momentum, and if possible, push even further,” said ABA.
One of the key highlights of the Midyear Town Hall was the Usapang Power Buddies with some of the key executives of the Group including ABA, Senior Vice President for PBU Generations Jose Luis R. Angco (JRA), Senior Vice President for Business Development and Marketing Joseph C. Nocos (JCN), and Vice President for Corporate Services Maria Jiji Q. Lara (MQL). Also, part of the panelists was Alcantara Group’s new Chief Finance Officer Robert P. Ramos (RPR).
During the Usapang Power Buddies, the executives were asked what it means to shift gears.
“This means to me that we all must get together. We all have to work as a team to drive results. Keep track of our results because we need to know where we are going,” RPR emphasized.
On the Operations side, JRA explained that shifting gears involves accelerating critical actions and plans and addressing existing gaps to ensure that targets are met. Meanwhile, MQL emphasized the need to be creative and strategic in delivering expected results, despite the challenges and limitations of the current situation.
For JCN, it means being ready to downshift and finding the right gear to move the PBU car forward. He also emphasized the importance of coordination among all parts to ensure alignment with the direction and speed the company requires.
From the perspective of the head of PBU, ABA shared that shifting gears begins with a change in mindset, a vital step to gain momentum and move ahead. He reiterated that PBU is committed to empowering its people to unlock their full potential by encouraging continuous growth, improved performance, and resilience. He further underscored the importance of
thinking outside the box and working together as one team to overcome obstacles and achieve shared goals.
Following the panel discussion, the executives engaged with the Power Buddies and responded to their questions.
As the Midyear Town Hall drew to a close, the call to Accelerate Together emerged as more than just a theme; it became a mindset shift and a rallying cry for every Power Buddy to take ownership, stay agile, and move forward as one Alsons Power Group. While the road ahead may be challenging, Alsons Power remains optimistic that with collaboration, purpose, and determination, the company will end the year strong and continue advancing the Group’s long-term success.
